Healthy Holiday Tips

Healthy Holidays

How did you feel last year with the overeating?
Were those extra pounds worth it?
We can help.
Weight is the entry point to health,
and that’s what we are all about.
Get a head start on your weight goals for 2013.

During Holiday season

  • Decide now to make exercise important through out. Take a walk. Jump rope. Pick a Christmas song  and start moving every time you hear it!
  • SHAKLEE 180  has a kit for you to " maintain, stay the same" or "choose to lose"  over the holidays.  With just a smoothee and the multi, you will be getting some good stuff to keep you healthy and keep that muscle to burn the fat.
  • Drink a lot of water to keep flushing your system.

Before the party

  • Stick with your usual eating routine the day of a party. Skipping meals can set you up for overeating once you get there. I usually have a CINCH or fiber bar before I go so that i am not hungry.
  • Bring a snack or appetizer that’s one of your healthy favorites: trail mix, fruit kebabs, hummus and vegetables...
  • If you’re the host of the party, balance out the food options with plenty of fruits and vegetables.       You can even have a FRUIT and NUT Bar and allow guests to mix their own little holiday treat baggie.

 At the party:

  • Plan to chat with friends and family and it keeps your mouth busy!
  • Think about what you drink! Oh yes, those calories can add up fast.
  • Share leftovers. I keep ziplock baggies and recycled containers available to send home the leftovers with friends so that I am not tempted tomorrow..
The bottom line for me during the holidays is just that!  Even though a  splurge or two at holiday parties won’t undo days, weeks, or months of healthy eating habits, I can choose now  to let the turkey do the gobbling and I can enjoy the spirit of health during the holidays.
