Plan to take it back!

Every wonder what to do with old meds?   For your own safety and that of the environment, Plan to Take It Back. Seriously, flushing it down the toilet only shares it with the plants and trees and the water supply and it eventually comes back to all of us. Just this week there was an article about kids reaching puberty so fast and no wonder with so many more toxins playing havoc with their hormones ( Xenoestrogens ). So I am pleased to post this information for you. Put the date on your calendar. Find the location near you. Clean out your medicine cabinet for old prescriptions from the dentist or doctor and do the safe thing.

The U.S. DEA is sponsoring the National Take Back Initiative on April 30 (the initiative is mainly to prevent drug abuse, but it has environmental benefits as well). Today, gather up any unused medication in your house and plan to take it to your local collection center in a few weeks. You can find a collection site near you here.

And by the way, if you would like to look at other options instead of the ones that have all those side effects, check out this link to an Herbal Medicine Cabinet.  Especially after all those recalls from Johnson and Johnson last year.

Be safe!!!

P.S.  Thanks to CafeBecky and the GO GREEN Challenge Activity for this information!!!
