Susan's Journey with Cancer, Herniated disk and Intervention with....

A couple weeks ago Nancy shared with me a story of her friend I'll call Susan that touched my heart . Susan is a cancer survivor. I got to hear her speak at a recent event at Copper River and asked if I could share her story. ( I left all the details in it because if you are facing these challenges, you will understand the journey)
• Susan was diagnosed with endometrial cancer January 2009. This was a total shock and it literally “knocked my socks off.” There had been no warning and her life would never be the same.
• After surgery in February, this case was put before the Tumor Board in Evanston Hospital because she had two kinds: the rare cell type ( papillary serous comprises only 5 – 10% of all endo cancers) and the usually cell type, adenocarcinoma. Chemo and radiation were recommended for the best chance of long term survival ( chemo: 15-47% @ 5 years vs chemo & radiation survival 100% @ 5 years- per study at Yale University of Medicine, 2005).
• In July 2010, Susan herniated a disk in her back. She shared that she did nothing to cause it (like dead weight lifting!) but the pain doctor suggested it was due to the chemo and radiation in the pelvic area that dries out the disks and makes them more vulnerable. Susan was in extreme pain and could only be in vertical and horizontal positions. No sitting!
• July 27 she started seeing a Chiropractor who had success treating herniations and got more radiation with the MCI that was to diagnose it. The herniation was L5 & S1 which means spinal stenosis and lots of arthritic tissue.
• The pain doctor suggested spinal surgery for complete relief. Her files and MRI were send to Neurological surgeon for review and he recommended 4 weeks of physical therapy ( 2 x a day) to see how she responded before any other surgery. And the insurance process started for her to get a steroid injection to help the irritated nerve root to shrink and heal. She thanks God that his never happened!
• Finally, she called her friend Nancy, who has a cancer story of her own when her 18 month old son ( now 25, declared cancer free in 1996 with no scar tissue either) had an astrocytoma (spinal brain tumor). Nancy suggested “ INTERVENTION with Shaklee supplements, which I gladly welcomed—I was open to anything that would help me heal. I had taken Shaklee’s Vita Lea multi vitamin during treatments, but If I had known then what I know now, would have used many more supplements during chemo & radiation following protocol w/Shaklee. I feel my immune system would have recovered much quicker that way.”
• Nancy Cranston, also referred to as “Libby” in our circle of friends, shares the message of 1. Get rid of the toxins in your life 2. Detox and 3. Replace your products and rebuild your cells/immune system.
• Aug 23; Susan started on a detox program, using Shaklee herbs and supplements, and the VIVIX.
• The next week Susan was on her feet and drove to church, ecstatic of not being in so much pain and able to sit.
• After 3-4 weeks she went to see her chiropractor who returned with her charts and asked “ what are you doing?”. He shared that it usually takes about 6 months to see progress like that on such extensive injuries. “Keep it up!”
• “It’s been 6 wks. now & my progress is fantastic! I’ve been released from Physical Therapy~achieved all my original goals!... started walking short distances, up to 1 mile now. I still have some pain occasionally, but fully expect God to heal me completely!”
• What did she do:
1. Followed what she calls the ‘Intervention’ plan with Shaklee nutrition and household/laundry products.
2. Continued to educate herself; “Nancy gave me several cd’s to listen to: I have practically worn them out; it was after listening to them that I decided to add the other 4 supplements.”
• Recovery and Treatment of Cancer pt. 1 & 2 w/Sherry Attila
• Toxins and Hormonal Imbalances w/Dr. Margaret Christensen

• Susan is continuing to heal and have more energy than ever before. And she has a passion to share her story with others so that they can have some hope.
“I think it is so crucial for a person to not feel victimized by health issues of any kind and to realize there are many options besides traditional medicine.”

THANK YOU SUSAN FOR SHARING. IT TOUCHES ME TO SEE THE SPARKLE IN YOUR EYES!!!

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. This is Susan’s personal story and never did anyone ever say that taking Shaklee products would cure her. It just made sense to get rid of the toxins and give her body what it needed and see what happened!

  1. Hi Ruthie,
I have the same herniated disk in the same place for many years. They also usually diagnose DDD = degenerative disk disease. After MRIs surgeons recommended spinal fusion, but with one steroid injection, chiropractic, physical therapy, and Shaklee I have stayed moving and not needed surgery.
