Barrett continues saying " the worst part? Even if you wanted to avoid this sweetener, you may find it impossible to do so. Not only are there no labeling rules for Neotame, but it is even included in the USDA certified organic food. " Wow.
Dr. Mercola writes, "Neotame is a chemical derivative of aspartame, and judging by the chemicals used in its manufacturing, it appears even more toxic than aspartame, although the proponents of Neotame claim that increased toxicity is not a concern, because less of it is needed to achieve the desired effect."
So what is the solution? Organicjar.com suggests that If you are trying to avoid Neotame, the best thing to do is buy all organic items that have no or very little ingredients. That makes sense! The less ingredients, the less chance Neotame could be hiding out.
Bottom line for us is to read and be aware of the companies you support. Find out what kind of testing is done on the raw materials, and even how it is processed. Check out the company's track record. And make wise and safe choices for yourself. Adam and Eve didn't have to use those little blue and pink packets with their tea, now did they?
We should know by now that anything Monsanto is behind - Agent Orange, Roundup, and GMO crops – they are not there to build up our health and so why would their Neotame be any different. The only pot they are trying to sweeten is their bank account.
