An immune system boost from the side of the road...

As a child, I remember stopping at the side of road and picking elderberries, which my mom and dad would use to make jams and jellies.  Little did I realize then how great those little berries were a natural immune boost, especially working with Echinacea when we want to keep that immune system strong.

There was a question posted on one of the FB groups I'm in about how to keep the immune systems charged up. Someone in the family had come down the flu and so she was asking some ideas to keep the rest of them, including a toddler, from getting that too.  Yup, immune boosters are needed.

Seems like a lot of  flu bugs are showing their ugly face. So do we go out and load up on all the OTC meds and hope to wallow through?   OR what are some SAFE, more natural ways to get through it and also to keep the rest of the fam from catching it?

When my sons were young, I would teach them to compare their immune systems to playing army with  their G I JOE men.  We gotta get extra ammunition in there to fight off the bad guys.  And that ammunition was in the form of their daily vitamins and protein drink mix for breakfast. And I had my "Herbal Medicine Cabinet" ready to help take care of anything that did manage to sneak through.  Yes,  Optiflora ( probiotics), Vitamin C, garlic, Performance Sport Drink, Zinc,  Nutriferon and more.   BUT one of them reminded me of our childhood days when we would help mom pick those tiny little black berries in the bushes.  So now, Instead of picking elderberries from the side of the road, we choose to supercharge  our immune system with Elderberry when we feel that first tickle.

Defend and Resist;  Defend & Resist Complex features four clinically proven immune-supporting ingredients. The immunoactive  arabinogalactans in extracts of echinacea (Echinacea purpurea to stimulate the body’s natural resistance), black elderberry(to help maintain a healthy immune response), and larch tree (to enhance immune support*) stimulate the body’s natural resistance, and zinc is known to support healthy immune function

This is one great way to help your body respond to seasonal challenges by giving your immune system what it needs to stay strong. So to supercharge the immune system when you feel that first tickle, take six tablets a day for seven days.**
• Swallow, chew, or crush in hot water for a soothing tea
